What: A producer-only market offering vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs, baked goods, maple syrup, cider, plants and more
Where: Under roof in a pavilion at the American Legion grounds along state Route 45 just west of Millheim
When: From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 16

Specialty: "It's a producer-only market. There is no re-sale. And all vendors are local," Haney said. "We try to keep it within the school district, although some vendors are from outside who have special things to offer."

Bellefonte Farmers Market
Where: On the corner of Howard and Allegheny in front of the Centre County Library and Historical Museum.
When: From 7 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Saturdays, year-round
Information: Jean Rogers Gerber, Bellefonte Intervalley Area Chamber of Commerce, 355-2917.
Specialty: "I think it's the oldest one in the area," Gerber said. "One vendor, he's third-generation at the market, is known for corn; another woman who has come here for years has delicious baked goods. There's a nice mix of produce and plants, flowers and baked goods."
Vendors: Because the market is casual and open, a list of vendors is not really available, Gerber explained.
Police collect fees from vendors each day the market is open. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can contact Gerber at the chamber of commerce.
Downtown State College Farmers Market
What: An open-air, producer-only market
Where: Locust Street, between College and Beaver avenues
When: From 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays, opening June 4 and running into November (except during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts)

Specialty: "The vendors are excited about what
they do and are eager to talk to their customers about their products,"
Diefenbach said. "The Boalsburg Market offers a wide selection
of locally produced items, space for kids to play while parents shop
and visit, and plenty of free parking."
The Boalsburg Farmers Market also offers local entertainment. Although there is no structured program, entertainers who would like to perform should contact Diefenbach.
